Ozzy Osbourne, a heavy metal icon, shocked his hometown on August 8 at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games in England.
The appearance marked the first since a significant surgery in June to have pins in his neck and back removed and realigned. Osbourne performed the hit track "Paranoid" with former Black Sabbath member Tony Iommi.
A 2003 quad biking accident left The Prince of Darkness with neck problems that have continued to affect him. A fall in 2019 made the damage worse and prompted the insertion of 15 screws into his back. Fortunately, the June procedure was a success, as he reported doing well.
Patient Number 9, Osbourne's brand-new solo album, will be released on September 9. Along with Iommi, it will also feature other notable artists including Eric Clapton, Mike McCready from Pearl Jam, and current lead guitarist Zakk Wylde, who is also the frontman of the heavy metal group Black Label Society.
