Boynton Beach, FL - A deadly argument between roommates over drugs resulted in the death of a Boynton Beach man on Tuesday.

26-year-old Andrew Pepin is facing second-degree murder charges after allegedly shooting his roommate, 34-year-old Jonathan Richardson, during a dispute on Tuesday morning.

Police responded to a 911 call at Pepin and Richardson's residence and found Richardson deceased with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to Pepin's statement to police, the argument stemmed from Richardson believing Pepin was withholding drugs.

Pepin claims Richardson became aggressive, but investigators did not find evidence of a physical altercation.

Police did locate a rifle at the scene that belonged to Pepin, and ballistics tests confirmed it was the murder weapon.

Pepin is currently being held without bond and assigned a public defender.

In addition to a second-degree murder charge, Pepin also faces a charge of shooting into an occupied dwelling.
