Birthday Cards Needed For A Clearwater WWII Vet Turning 108 Years Old!

Give it up for a true American hero, Chief Petty Officer William Monfort, who is turning 108-years-old on December 17th, here in Clearwater!

As the oldest living World War II Navy veteran in Florida, Monfort’s life story and service will be celebrated with a special event at The Landmark Assisted Living in Clearwater with a birthday party starting at 2 p.m., located at 3260 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, FL 33761. The celebration will feature live entertainment, food, cake, and drinks. The birthday boy also made a special request: birthday cards!

Monfort served as one of the first Navy radiomen to receive distress calls during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He is also a survivor of kamikaze attacks during the war. Despite his age, Monfort remains sharp, active, and full of life, exercising daily and claiming he feels more like 37 than 108.

Monfort’s caregivers and loved ones are encouraging people to send birthday cards to help make his day extra special. Cards can be sent directly to:
