Number one on a lot of Mt Kusmores out there is Smoke Two Joints which a lot of people don't realize is a cover originally written by The Toyes as a traditional style reggae song in 1983! They had me at the lyrics "hard work good..hard work fine but first take care of head".
Jimmie's Chicken Shack is a band that does not get mentioned enough when it comes to this subject matter but I had the pleasure of being at a few shows during their heyday in the 90s. Their sound was uniquely raw and the aroma during a Jimmie's Chicken Shack show was dominant and that's why they make my list.
