Science Has Created Babies From Two Males

For the first time, scientists have managed to create infant mice from two males.

Scientists described the process in the journal Nature. First, they took skin cells from male mice and transformed them into stem cells. Then, the male mouse stem cells were turned into functional egg cells. Those eggs were then fertilized and implanted into female mice.

7 out of 630 embryos grew into baby mice. They appeared to grow normally and become parents themselves.

Diana Laird and Jonathan Bayerl note that this development could help enable more people to have biological children without the issue of donor eggs.
