Airbnb Banning People Who Are Associated With Banned Users
Turns out, some Airbnb members are guilty by association.
The popular short-term rental site is reportedly banning people if they are closely associated with banned members. The user can return if their friend successfully appeals their own ban, or if they can prove they are not close with said banned member.
Airbnb confirmed this practice and claims they have discovered that it is a necessary safety precaution as the banned member could travel with a friend.
User Amanda found herself banned after using her boyfriend's credit card. While she does not have a criminal record, her boyfriend does.
