British rock legend Jeff Beck is dead at the age of 78. His family confirmed the news in a statement Wednesday, saying he recently contracted bacterial meningitis. Beck rose to prominence with the Yardbirds in the 1960s and is regarded as one of the most innovative guitarists of his generation. The eight-time Grammy award winner recently completed a tour supporting his album with actor Johnny Depp, titled "18."
