Woman Sues TIGFridays for Mozzarella Stick Chips

TGI Fridays "Mozzarella Stick" Chips . . . Don't Contain Mozzarella?

There's a class action lawsuit against the makers of TGI Fridays Mozzarella Sticks corn snacks, because they don't contain any mozzarella, just cheddar. The company claims they make it clear on the label.

If I offered you $1 million if you could name one ingredient in mozzarella sticks, what would you guess?  Inventure Foods the makers of TGI Fridays Mozzarella Sticks corn snacks because their mozzarella sticks don't contain any mozzarella, just cheddar.

The woman who filed the suit says the product "misleads" consumers since it's labeled "mozzarella sticks." She said she bought some online, and "reasonably" assumed it featured mozzarella. To be clear: These are baked chip-like SNACKS, not the frozen / fried mozzarella sticks you get at the restaurant.

Inventure doesn't deny that there's no mozzarella. But they say the person who filed the suit is a "serial class action plaintiff," who "cherry-picked" only one part of the product's labeling.

They label says, "Mozzarella Sticks" in big lettering, and then below it says, "Mozzarella flavored corn snacks with other natural and artificial flavors." And on the back it says, "Each snack stick is loaded with the savory flavor of mozzarella cheese mixed with our signature spices."
