Elon Musk Bizarrely Tweets Fight Challenge to Putin for Fate of Ukraine

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted a bizarre fight challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin Monday (March 14th) for the fate of Ukraine.

He tweeted, "I hereby challenge [Vladimir Putin] to single combat," using the Cyrillic version of Putin's name.

He added, using more Cyrillic: "Stakes are [Ukraine]." Not long after, he tweeted again, tagging the Kremlin, and asked in Russian, "Do you agree to this fight?" He did get a response from Dmitry Rogozin, head of Russia's space agency, who responded, "You, little devil, are still young. Compete with me [weakling]; It would only be a waste of time."

Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov noticed Musk's challenge and tweeted, "I am sure that @elonmusk can send Putin to Jupiter." Federov got Musk to help Ukraine last month by supplying it with SpaceX Starlink terminals to help deal with internet issues during the conflict. Musk hasn't always been so hostile to Putin, however. In February 2021, the multibillionaire tweeted directly to the official Twitter account of the president of Russia, asking: "would like to join me for a conversation on Clubhouse?," which is a social audio app. He followed that with a tweet in Russian that translated to: "it would be a great honor to speak with you."
