Hillsborough County Tap water could be tasting different

Hillsborough County be on alert! Your tap water might be tasting different in the near future

Tampa Bay Water has announced that they are changing the way it treats water at one of its plants due to a lack of liquid oxygen, and residents in parts of Hillsborough County may notice a change in the taste and smell of their water..

Liquid Oxygen is used to remove Hydrogen sulfide but with the lack of liquid oxygen available the facility will be switching to bleach to treat the water
Officials have said that the water will still be safe to drink and will only be temporary.

The swap at its Lithia plant only impacts people who live in the south-central parts of the county, including areas like Brandon, Riverview, Lithia and Balm.
