NHL Hall of Fame Goalie Tony Esposito passes away after battling Cancer

The NHL is mourning after Hall of Fame Legend Tony Esposito passed away late Tuesday after a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Esposito was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks from the Montreal Canadians in 1969 and spent the next 15 seasons with the Blackhawks. His number, 35, was retired

Esposito, 78, was a 5-time All-Star and 3-Time Vezina Trophy winner. He ranked 10th all-time all time in wins with 423.

Esposito was known for his fearsome mask between the pipes, but could light up a room with his charisma, storytelling and over all genuine friendliness.

The Blackhawks and the Esposito family released this statement on twitter.
