Today's Superstar of Florida or Not Florida is 29-year-old Jackson Hanley. Jackson wanted to celebrate four months of sobriety, so he decided to mark the occasion by getting hammered and stealing a motorcycle.
Here's how it went down.
He rode his bicycle to a dealership called Kelly's Kawasaki, and left the lot pushing a brand-new motorcycle down the road.
Apparently he wanted to ride it out but didn't have the keys. And he was planning to figure out a way to start the engine once he got it home.
Police found him about a mile down the road, sitting on a fence with the bike leaning against the asphalt. He said he thought a new ride would be a good way to celebrate his sobriety. And he also admitted to drinking wine and vodka.
Since he didn't drive, he didn't get a DUI. But he's facing charges for felony theft. And he caused about $3,500 in damages to the bike when he leaned it on the ground.
