Geddy Lee Talks Rush "50 Something Tour" Set Lists
Geddy Lee sat down for a lengthy interview with YouTube musician and producer Rick Beato this week, and the discussion covered the band's new drummer Anika Nilles, its rabid fan base and the difficulties in relearning their complex music after a decade away. As to what fans going to see the band on their "50 Something Tour" might hear and see from the band, Geddy explained they've cut down their 19 studio albums to a shorter, more manageable list. "We will play, over the course of four shows, 38 songs...I don't think every record is represented, and some are over-represented, for obvious reasons..." Part of the reason was that Geddy and guitarist Alex Lifeson had to relearn songs they'd played thousands of times, but not recently. And Nilles, who is having to undergo a crash course in the band's catalog, will have to learn everything from scratch.
