OZZY & SABBATH: Festivals & Classical Interpretations

Ozzfest will be resurrected next year. During her recent appearance at MIDEM 2026, the Global Meeting for Music Industry Leaders in Cannes, France, Sharon Osbourne said, "Yes, we're gonna do it. The last one we did was 2018. It was just a month before Ozzy got sick, and that was at The Forum in L.A. And there was no plans to stop it. We were still gonna do it, but Ozzy couldn't. And Ozzy and I would talk about it, and he'd say, 'Do you think Ozzfest would work without me?' And I'm, like, 'Yeah, it's a brand. It will work without you.' And he said, 'We should do it.'" And it once again will be a traveling festival, which it stopped being after 2007.

Also at the conference, Sharon addressed the classical tour of Black Sabbath's catalog, which will be performed by local orchestras. She said, " Ozzy's keyboard player, Adam Wakeman (son of former Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman) came up with the idea... And then we said, 'Great.' He's converted the music into classical music, and then I said, 'We need guitar players to come in at some point. You need that.' So we're gonna bring in about four guitar players to play together. And so people see the original version and the classical in one night. And we're gonna do it with state-of-the-art graphics and state-of-the-art sound system, go to major cities, pick up the local philharmonic." While no dates have been announced, there's talk of launching at London's Royal Albert Hall.

The Third Eye: Early Photographs will be published on October 6th. It has more than 250 images from Harrison's color and black and white photos, plus 8 mm movie stills taken from 1963 to 1970.

It was compiled and curated by Olivia Harrison and includes an introduction by Olivia as well as essays by authors Colm Tóibín and George Saunders. The publisher says, "The candid, unguarded photos, brimming with Harrison’s wit, intelligence and penchant for experimentation (he was enamored of selfies, long before the iPhone), and snapped in those rare moments out of the spotlight offer a remarkable, inside look at the human beings behind the Beatles, trying to hold onto themselves—and enjoy themselves—while standing at the center of the storm."
