METALLICA Launch Met Store Scavenger Hunt

Metallica is launching a Metallica Store scavenger hunt. The band posted the details at Metallica.com writing, "The scavenger hunt is back! Our little game was such a hit last year that we absolutely had to bring it back. And as the weather gets colder, what better way to turn up the heat than with some fun? For this special Met Store event, we’ve hidden a secret section featuring some exclusive items alongside mega-discounts. But you won’t find it in the store menu. You’ll have to explore pages on Metallica.com to find your gateway to the hidden section.” The band went on to say, “’What?! You won’t tell me where to find it? What the hell is this world coming to?’ Come on, guys! This air of mystery is pumping engines toward problem-solving. Don’t wait to play; the hidden section will disappear forever in 48 hours or when stock runs out. We’re hoping fast is desire as you uncover the clues and the pathways start to spiral. All right, all right, enough of the puns. Surely, this has been enough to feed the appetite within you. So what are you waiting for? Come on - jump in the fire! Happy hunting!" Source: BraveWords.

Mike Shinoda Says Brad Delson's Absence from Linkin Park Tour is a "Mental Health Thing”

Back in September we learned that Linkin Park’s lead guitarist Brad Delson wouldn’t be heading out on the road with the band. Mike Shinoda is now sharing some insight into why. In a recent interview, Shinoda discussed Delson’s reasons for not wanting to join the tour saying, “In case anybody doesn’t understand the dynamic, our guitarist Brad is our guitarist — he’s in the band — but he’s realized that in terms of his… It’s kind of a mental health thing. He doesn’t love the touring and the live show lifestyle, and so he is our guitarist, but he’s not playing live. So he’s found a guy named Alex who’s spectacular, a really good guitarist and they get along great, and Brad chose Alex to play his parts live.

SAMMY HAGAR: Red Alert on the Strip

Sammy Hagar is returning to Las Vegas for his first residency there since 2021 and '22 when he did 14 shows at The Strat. He made the announcement yesterday. "Hey, it's the 'Red Rocker,' Sammy Hagar here, and it's Monday morning [and] what better day of the week to announce a residency with The Best of All Worlds band -- the continuation of The Best of All Worlds tour -- Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, Kenny Aronoff, myself and Rai Thistlethwayte on keyboards, and we're gonna carry on in Vegas. So, get ready. Ger yer ya ya's out. It's gonna be a lot of surprises."

This time he's setting up shop at Dolby Live at Park MGM for nine shows from April 30th through May 17th. Sam says "A residency allows you to change the set up every night. Like when I play in Cabo I played four or five nights in a row in Cabo before without repeating one song. We won't do that in Vegas. I mean we're gonna have a show, but every night we'll switch out some Van Halen songs, switch out Sammy solo, switch out some Chickenfoot, switch out some Montrose. I have such a vast catalog and to go out and play a two-hour show, you just put a dent in it. So, we can do that, and we can rehearse 'cause we're not traveling."

When Sammy started this tour in July, Jason Bonham from his other band, The Circle, was on drums. But when Jason had to fly home to England to care for his ailing mom Pat -- who is recovering -- he was replaced literally at the last minute by Kenny Aronoff for the final seven shows, which is one of the reasons why he'll stay on for the residency. Bonham will be

touring with his band, Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening, starting this Tuesday in Indianapolis through December 16th in Tampa with more dates next year including the Rock Legends Cruise in February, as well as European dates with his other band, Black Country Communion.

The dates for Sammy Hagar's The Best of All Worlds Las Vegas Residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM are April 30th, and May 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 9th, 10th, 14th, 16th, and 17th. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. PT at Ticketmaster.com. Complete details at RedRocker.com.

In addition to the residency, Sammy has a Cabo Wabo Cantina inside the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and Sammy’s Island, a tropical pool getaway inspired by his music and Cabo Wabo brand at the Palms Casino Resort. And this Sunday, Sammy and Michael Anthony will perform during halftime at the Las Vegas Raiders - Denver Broncos game at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas in tribute to the military. On November 21st, 2021, Sammy performed at halftime of the Raiders - Cincinnati Bengals game in Vegas.

VAN HAGAR: Unofficially Came to a Second End 20 Years Ago

Today (Tuesday) November 19th in 2004, marks the 20th anniversary of Van Halen bringing to a close their only reunion tour with Sammy Hagar at the AVA Amphitheater in Tucson, Arizona.

What started out as all is forgiven and let's move forward when it started on June 11th in Greensboro, North Carolina, was anything but for the 80th and final show. "What happened on that reunion tour in '04 was some of the most miserable, back-stabbing, dark crap I've ever been involved with my whole life and I would never go through that again with anybody or for any amount of money or any amount of fame and fortune or nothing. So until he comes around and says, 'Dude, I'm sorry. I was wrong and I wanna be friends again.' I would be there in a second -- all forgiveness, just like that. But for me to reach out would be stupid." That forgiveness came in 2020 when Sammy and Eddie Van Halen spoke a few times prior to his death on October 6th of that year, but they never saw each other again after that 2024 tour.

As for the tour, it was Van Halen's first since 1998 with their third singer, Gary Cherone, and first with Hagar since he was booted from the band in 1996. It came about after Sammy reached out to Alex Van Halen in 2023 where he says they "hit it off like old times." However, it went off the rails due to Eddie's drinking, and Hagar reportedly contracting with venues to sell his Cabo Wabo Tequila, which, before the tour, the Van Halen brothers told him he would not be able to promote. This led Hagar to get a Cabo Wabo tattoo on his arm, which he proudly displayed by wearing short sleeves.

Plus add to this that the brothers didn't want bassist Michael Anthony on the tour due to his friendship with Hagar. But Hagar put his foot down, but Anthony was hired as a touring musician and not as a member of the band. Despite all this, the tour was financially successful, grossing $54.3 million, which made it the sixth highest grossing tour of 2004.

OZZY OSBOURNE: Down With Trophy Hunting!

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have teamed up with the U.K. organization Ban Trophy Hunting for a new T-shirt and video. The organization is working to ban all trophy hunting and is currently calling for the U.K. government to prevent hunters from bringing home the animals they’ve killed back into the country. The shirt features a logo designed by Ozzy and is available in multiple colors and sizes. Ozzy says, "Trophy hunters are totally crazy. You’ve got to be barking [mad] to kill an innocent animal and then take photos of yourself laughing about it."

Ozzy has long been a gun enthusiast with air rifles being his hobby.

ROD STEWART: Not Every Tour Tells a Story

Rod Stewart has announced more dates with Cheap Trick. One Last Time 2025 starts with a one-off date in March before completely getting underway on July 8th in Raleigh, North Carolina with 17 shows through August 15th in Maryland Heights, Missouri outside of St. Louis.

But don't worry about it being the "last time" as the name of the tour implies as he said last year, "I shall never retire! I was put on this Earth to be a singer and will keep doing so for as long as the good Lord lets me."

Stewart has dates in Spain and Denmark in December, followed by one in New Jersey and three in Florida in February and early May, and then it's back to Las Vegas for his residency at Caesars Palace in March, late May and June with Europe in late March and April. Cheap Trick start a new headlining tour on December 6th in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and will be back on the road with Heart in March and April.

BOB DYLAN: Not All Completely Known

Bob Dylan's bio-pic, A Complete Unknown, contains one scene in which the events portrayed never happened. Edward Norton, who portrays Pete Seeger, tells Rolling Stone that director James Mangold told him that Dylan insisted there be at least one completely inaccurate moment. Mangold told Dylan he didn't think it was a good idea because what would the public think, and Dylan said, “What do you care what other people think?” Norton didn't reveal what scene.

Of course this is nothing new. Just look at Elton John's Rocketman, which he described as a "musical fantasy." Does anyone really believe he levitated when he performed at the Troubadour club? As Elton described, “It's a musical fantasy. The music carries the scenes through the dark side and it gets lifted by the music. Things are out of order in the film. They're not in the right order and they're not chronological. And even though the movie has very dark moments in it, it's ultimately joyous because I get redemption. Just when you go through one bad scene then the music will lift you to another. The film is like Grease meets All That Jazz meets Tommy."

And even Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody wasn't a year-by-year, album-by-album retelling of their history, and there were those cynics who said some of the scenes weren't accurate. That's true, but, as someone who worked closely on the film told us, it's all correct. In other words, it's simply been given the Hollywood treatment. A Complete Unknown opens in theaters on Christmas Day.
