Mojo Nixon, who forged a career out of such novelty MTV and alternative radio hits as "Elvis Is Everywhere" and "Don Henley Must Die" died yesterday (Wednesday) at age 66 after sufferinga âcardiac eventâ while serving as host on the Outlaw Country Cruise.
The musician, actor, and radio personality, born Neill Kirby McMillan Junior, made eight albums with musical partner Skid Roper, five as a solo artist, and a couple more fronting his group The Toadlickers (one in partnership with Dead Kennedys singer Jello Biafra).
A career highlight occurred during a 1992 show in Austin, Texas when Henley surprised him by coming on stage and joining in on the chorus of what was probably Nixonâs best-known song: âDon Henley must die / Donât let him get back together with Glenn Frey!â
