Zane Michael Floyd was convicted of killing four people with a shotgun in 2000 is out of appeals and set to be executed in June by the State of Nevada.
Floyd, through his attorneys, is challenging the plan to execute him by lethal injection, requesting instead to be executed by firing squad.
Only three states allow capital punishment by gunfire – Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Utah; lethal injection is the method required under Nevada state law.
Floyd’s attorneys say a firing squad would be the “most humane way’ to execute him. I say let ordinary average citizens be the trigger person just to keep it interesting.
2010 is the last time I seem to remember a state carrying out the order.
