1 in 3 Americans Say No To COVID-19 Vaccine

Maybe there will plenty of vaccine to go around after all. A new poll reveals one out of every three Americans has no intention of getting vaccinated against the coronavirus when it becomes available.

The poll, conducted by NPR, PBS Newshour and Marist, reveals 60 percent of respondents will get a shot when a vaccine is made public; 35 percent say they will refused to get vaccinated; and 5 percent say they're unsure.

The anti-vaccine sentiment comes in spite of proof that vaccines save lives, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "A person who is immune to a disease because she has been vaccinated can’t get that disease and can’t spread it to others," a statement released by the CDC reads. "The more people who are vaccinated, the fewer opportunities a disease has to spread."
