Apparently, water and toilet paper aren't the only items disappearing from store shelves. Gun retailers report fears of the coronavirus have also caused a major spike in sales of firearms and ammo.
Gun store owners across the country say they've been inundated by customers, many of whom are purchasing a firearm for the first time. They believe people are looking for a means to protect themselves in case the pandemic results in others becoming violent or desperate. Some retailers also credit lawmakers' efforts to restrict firearms sales for the sudden boom.
The demand is so great in some cities, residents have been lining up outside gun stores before they open to make sure they'll be able to purchase a weapon.
