To kick off the 2025 NFL preseason, Kyle Trask and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense started off the game on a high note, connecting with Jalen McMillan for a big gain of 25 yards on the first play from scrimmage. The Bucs capped off the drive with Chase McLaughlin's 45-yard field goal, giving the Bucs a 3-0 lead over the Titans.
Heading into the second quarter, the Bucs held onto the 3-point lead, starting the quarter off at the Titans two-yard line. Bucs RB Sean Tucker punched it in for a couple of yards out, extending the Bucs lead over the Titans, 10-0 after the XP with 14:55 left in the half. The Titans answered back with a score of their own as Tony Pollard punched it in a one-yard TD run, cutting into the Bucs lead, 10-7 with 8:17 left to play in the opening half. Chase McLaughlin put three more points on the scoreboard following a 23-yard field goal; making it 13-7 Tampa Bay over the Titans at halftime.
The Buccaneers went on to handle business the rest of the way. Ryan Coe made his first-ever preseason field goal late in the 4th quarter, extending the Bucs' lead 19-7 over the Titans. Tampa Bay's defense picked off a pass, which soon after led to an Owen Wright TD run from 15 yards out, Bucs led 22-7 with 3:19 left in the game. Tampa Bay's scoring ways weren't finished yet. Bucs DB Roman Parodie picked off a pass for the Bucs, taking it to the house, giving the Bucs a 29-7 lead with 1:21 left in regulation.
The Buccaneers now prepare to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, August 16th, in Pittsburgh for Week 2 of the preseason. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 PM ET - you can hear the game on 97.9 WXTB-FM - The Mighty 98 Rock.
