The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4) fall to the Buffalo Bills (5-3) 24-18 Thursday at Highmark Stadium.
On the game's opening drive, the Buccaneers offense stalled; Jake Camarda booted the ball to the Bills from midfield, pinning the Bills within the five-yard line. Tyler Bass' 37-yard field goal was good, giving Buffalo a 3-0 lead over Tampa Bay early in the first quarter. The Buccaneers attempted to tie the game with a Chase McClaughlin game-tying 50-yard field goal was blocked.
The Bills went into the second quarter with a three-point lead before Josh Allen could find his way in the endzone on a 13-yard TD scramble, giving Buffalo a 10-0 lead with 11:03 left in the first half of regulation. The Buccaneers tacked on a 57-yard field goal courtesy of Chas McLaughlin, Tampa Bay trailed 10-3 with 7:40 left in the 2nd quarter. On the next play, William Gholston intercepted QB Josh Allen's pass, giving Tampa Bay the ball at Buffalo's 23-yard line. Baker Mayfield then connected with Chris Godwin on a 3-yard TD pass, tying the game up at 10-10. Josh Allen and the Bills answered back with a score of their own, Dalton Kincaid on a 22-yard TD pass, giving Buffalo a 17-10 lead late in the 2nd quarter.
Josh Allen and the Bills got off to a quick start in the 3rd quarter, as the signal caller connected with Gabe Davis on a 4-yard TD pass, giving Buffalo a 24-10 over Tampa.
Late in the 4th quarter, Baker Mayfield connected with Mike Evans on a 24-yard TD pass, trailing the Bills 24-18 after a successful 2-point conversion to Cade Otton. Unfortunately, it was too little too late for Tampa Bay, losing 24-18 against the Bills.
