Leaving the house is usually such a routine thing that you don't notice anything around you, and that seems to be what happened to a Scottish couple as they departed their vacation home in Pasadena, California.
Bob and Irene McKeown were caught on a security camera locking up, oblivious to the brown bear that had wandered on their porch from nearby Angeles National Forest.
Even the bear seemed surprised he wasn't spotted, and he went on to follow the McKeowns to their car.
It was at that point they caught sight of the animal. Irene got in the car and Bob ran back to the house, getting their safely but not before the cub clawed Bob's calf, leaving a scratch. Bob wound up needing a tetanus shot but got one heck of a story out of it all.
