The Tampa Bay Lightning (19-11-2) defeated the Florida Panthers (21-12-2) 4-0 on Monday night in Sunrise. The win snaps the Panthers winning streak at four games, one night after the Panthers had ended Tampa Bay's winning streak at four.
Jonas Johansson made 36 saves to earn the shutout, the fourth in his career. He has had three of those shutouts in his last two seasons in Tampa Bay.
The Lightning got goals from Nikita Kucherov, Jake Guentzel and Mtchell Chaffee in the first period to build an early lead. Brandon Hagel added an empty net goal in the third period to make the final score 4-0.
The Lightning are next in action when they host the New York Rangers on Saturday night. Puck drop from Amalie Arena is scheduled for 7:00 PM on December 28.
