If you plan on using the Howard Frankland Bridge next weeknd you'll need to make new plans.
The Florida Department of Transportation plans to shut down all I-275 lanes on the Howard Frankland from 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16th through noon on Sunday, Jan. 17th. The closure will be weather permitting
This is just the beginning of a MAJOR construction project involving the Gateway Express Project.
Why do they need to close ALL lanes from 8pm Saturday night January 9th through Noon on Sunday January the 10th? A spokesperson for the FDOT says the bridge has to shut down so crews can remove the 4th Street North bridge over I-275.
There will be light board reminders all over the bay reminding you of the closure.
The FDOT says to leave at least 30 minutes extra travel time.
