PWR/UPis said to have been built around previously-unused guitar tracks from late-AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young, who retired from the band in 2014 due to dementia and passed away in 2017.

It's understood that the band began the project in the summer of 2018, when the quintet was spotted at Warehouse Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, though the band members haven't yet addressed any specifics regarding the new record.
