Chris Cornell Recorded Demos for New Soundgarden Album, Band Can't Use Them

There could be one last, new, original Soundgarden album with Chris Cornell, but at least for the moment, it's not happening.

The guys were recording new material at the time of Cornell's death in 2017. But the rest of the band is unable to obtain the master files of his demos.

It's not clear exactly WHO is with holding them, but it sounds like there's some hesitation from Cornell's estate.

Guitarist Kim Thayil says, quote, "We've asked nicely, we've suggested that this will benefit all parties . . .

But there seems to be some confusion amongst various parties as to what that would entail and how that works, and who that would benefit."
