What To Do With Those Gasparilla Beads

If you're trying to figure out what to do with all of those Gasparilla beads, put this at the top of the no-no list: recycling.

Yep. No recycling those beads, as the beads tangle the recycling equipment.

Instead, the City of Tampa has five bead collection sites available for disposal.

Starting February 4th, you can bring your beads to the following locations:

  • Port Tampa Community Center located at 4702 W. McCoy St.

  • Kate Jackson Community Center located at 821 S. Rome Ave.

  • Loretta Ingraham Recreation Complex located at 1611 N. Hubert Ave.

  • Copeland Park Community Center located at 11001 N. 15th St.

  • MacDonald Training Center  (weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30p.m.) 5420 W. Cypress St.

If you have questions, call (813) 348-6504.

And in case you missed it (AJ did) Jon Stewart was at the parade this year.
