Parents Upset After Drag Queen Speaks at Middle School's Career Day

Some parents of students at a Colorado middle school were peeved when they found out that a drag queen spoke during the school's career day. The drag queen, Jessica L'Whor, is a relative of a student at the school. She didn't perform, but rather read a book about bullying. School district spokesman Joe Ferdani said they believed L'Whor's visit would show their inclusiveness, stating, "The school's focus is to have an event that is representative of the diverse backgrounds and careers in the community." The school district wouldn't apologize for inviting L'Whor, but they did apologize to parents for not telling them ahead of time about her visit.
