The votes have been tallied and Monopoly is losing its iconic thimble game piece. It was a game piece I never wanted to be, but I sure as hell enjoyed rocking it on my pinky during game play.
The thimble has been a Monopoly game token since 1935, but it was voted out as part of a worldwide contest by gamemaker Hasbro to choose the eight new tokens to be included in the next version of the classic game. The winners for the new game pieces will be announced next month.
