Heβs about to turn 11 years old, obsessed with cars, and bravely fighting a rare genetic disease that has no cure. His story has inspired thousandsβand now, we get to celebrate him.
Join 98ROCK to celebrate Gage, a young fighter whose love for cars, especially drag racing, runs deep. His dad is a high-performance technician in St. Petersburg, and Gage has grown up immersed in horsepower and racing culture.
But beneath his passion and big smile lies a journey filled with hardship.
Gage was recently diagnosed with Ataxia-Telangiectasia-like Disorder Type 2 (ATLD 2)βa rare, degenerative neurological disease affecting just 1 in 100,000 globally. There is no cureβonly treatments and therapies to manage symptoms and preserve quality of life.
He has spent the past decade fighting battle after battle: born at just 27 weeks, navigating countless hospitalizations, therapies, and diagnoses ranging from CP to epilepsy and now ATLD 2. His resilience is incredible. His family recently moved to Florida to be closer to Johns Hopkins as his hospital stays become more frequent.
On August 4th, the Dream Machine Foundation shared Gageβs story on Instagram. The post has gone viral, and the outpouring of love has been unbelievable. People have cleared his Amazon wishlists and asked how they can help more- and that's by joining us at Gage's party this Saturday, August 23rd for a day of joy, horsepower, and community for a boy who deserves the world.
