Ozzy Osbourne Survives Rock N' Roll Lifestyle Thanks to Genetic Mutation

Ozzy Osbourne has lived a drug fuelledOzzy Osbourne has lived a drug fueled life. And even though he's rocked out and partied at nearly every opportunity, he's still going strong at the age of 70. And while many question how he’s managed to beat the odds and stay alive, it seems one biologist has figured it out.

The Black Sabbath star has a particularly high tolerance against both drugs and alcohol. In his new book the scientist attributes Ozzy’s survival to his genetics. He wrote: ‘Ozzy is indeed a genetic mutant,’ which fans probably already knew. But it’s supposedly the rocker’s genetic variations and mutations that have allowed him to lead such an extreme lifestyle.

Just last year, the star spoke to Orange County Register about his substance abuse, saying "I don’t drink alcohol anymore…I don’t smoke tobacco. I don’t use drugs…I’m doing good right now.

"I now think, “how did I think going into a bar and getting smashed and doing all that cocaine was fun?”

Recently, Ozzy suffered a fall at his Los Angeles home while recovering from pneumonia. Of the incident, Osbourne confessed "I can’t believe I have to reschedule more tour dates. Words cannot express how frustrated, angry and depressed I am not to be able to tour right now."
