KISS Plays Final Concert, Announces 'New Era' As Virtual Band

KISS played the final show on Saturday night - and also announced a 'New Era' for the group.

The band wrapped up its 'End Of The Road' tour at NYC's Madison Square Garden on Saturday. But as the show ended, Paul Stanley told the crow "The end of the road is the beginning of another road."

At that point, the band unveiled digital avatars of each KISS member with the message "A new era begins."

It's a creation of George Lucas's world-famous special effects company Industrial Light & Magic, partnered with Pophouse Entertainment, the company behind the popular ABBA hologram show.

Behind-the-scenes footage of the band members recording motion-capture footage that is transformed into a virtual avatar.

Pophouse says the virtual KISS will even include "real-time rendering so that you can react to the audience."

Gene Simmons promises "It's gonna be the best concert you've ever seen."
