STEVEN TYLER Breaks Silence, Gives Update

Steven Tyler has silently broken his silence following the fracture of his larynx in September. He posted a photo on Instagram of himself in the studio with an engineer, with the caption,

"THROATS ON THE MEND… BUT MY EARS STILL WORK! SO IN THE MEANTIME… IT’S STUDIO TIME... STARTING RE-MIXING AEROSMITH AEROSMITH!"

I'm not sure if he is referring to the band's self-titled debut album from 1973, but Joe Perry has made of point of saying how their focus is not on new music, but rather their catalog, which was acquired by Universal in 2021. "Steven [Tyler] and I have been talking about it and listening to the catalog and listening to the different versions of the different songs and we're kind of getting excited about kind of the way Jimmy Page has been going back and looking at the Led Zeppelin catalog and releasing some of the stuff that's never been released before. So we've been kind of focusing on that and at the same time every once in a while we look at each other and go, 'Hey, what do you think about getting in the studio again?' With so much stuff going on I won't say it'll never happen, but we'll see."

Aerosmith pulled the plug on their Peace Out tour in September after three shows due to Tyler's ailment. They hope to resume it early next year, although the previously announced dates in January have been removed from their schedule.
