F.H.P. said Kristen Kay Watts, 52, of Sarasota drove her BMW north on I-275 at a high speed when she approached a road closure that was put in place for the #Skyway10K Race on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Shen then blew through the cones and straight on for the bridge. A Trooper was able to intercept her hitting her almost head on seriously injuring BOTH.
The FHP said the trooper is recovering & Watts was charged with DUI serious injury following the incident.
Had the trooper not stopped her, how many people could have been seriously injured or killed.
