Another Church Under Sexual Abuse Allegations Southern Baptist Under Attack

380 leaders and workers within the Southern Baptist Church have been accused of sexual misconduct over the last twenty years. More than 700 victims have been identified since 1998. Instances of sexual abuse were discovered in children as young as three-years-old. More than 100 people accused in the investigation are registered sex offenders.

The San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle discovered that members of the church had asked the Southern Baptist Convention to look into allegations of abuse and to draft a resolution to investigate and establish policies. That draft was rejected in 2008 by the church's interim-president, who just said that he has expressed "sorrow" over the findings in the investigation. The current president has said that he is "committed to doing everything possible to ensure that we never make these mistakes again."

Is it there's just too much trust behind the cloth?
