My girlfriend and I made a quick trip to Goody Goody in Hyde Park over the weekend. After chomping on fantastic burgers and onion rings, we decided to walk along the street and see what we could find. Among the high end clothing and home furnishing stores, we saw a narrow pink building with several people lined up inside. It was Sprinkles, and DAYUM.
We opened the door and peered inside at the rows of cupcakes and ice creams. Tempting, yes. But we managed to walk away.
That is, until we saw the bright pink Cupcake ATM just outside.
There's a screen for ordering, a card swipe and a door that opens magically, presenting you with a glorious custom cupcake of your preference.
Technology is cool. You know... space travel, computers, breast implants...
But this is something more. This is CUPCAKES IN A 24-HOUR FREAKING ATM!
Complain all you want about politicians, North Korea, wrong way drivers on the Crosstown, but this...THIS...is truly a giant leap for mankind.
