Steve Martin has been a hero of mine for a very long time. Back in 1979, he was the biggest comedian to ever hit the planet. Remember "wild and crazy guy"? What about "King Tut"?
He's done lots of things since then. He was in Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Father of the Bride, LA Story and THE JERK! He also wrote a play called Picasso at the Lapin Agile, which I saw on stage back in the 1990s.
He's an extremely accomplished banjo player...and balloon animal maker. lol
Flash forward to this week.
I peruse OfferUp, LetGo and Craigslist with alarming regularity. I love discovering cool stuff and making it mine. It's a great way to burn time while waiting in line or through commercials on TV.
I freaking scored!
I found an original movie poster for Steve Martin's "The Jerk" on OfferUp...for five freaking dollars.
Because it was close to where my girlfriend works, I shot her a quick text and asked her to pick it up for me. I should mention that she's sneeky as hell. lol
A few minutes later, I noticed that the poster had been sold. I was devastated, until my gf told me that she had BOUGHT IT!
Now it hangs on our lanai. I can't stop giggling when I look at it. It's just freaking brilliant.
