Wow. I must admit, I was ready to bitch about how badly the Grammys went. Turns out, Metallica and Lady Gaga (despite the engineering issues) did a great job.
I was also ready to throw things at my TV when Bruno Mars took the stage to honor Prince. Again, I was pleasantly surprised. He was respectful, yet full of energy.
Hell, even Adele kicked ass.
I'm pretty sure I've never uttered those words before. lol
The Grammys reinforced and reminded me of the great losses we suffered in 2016. The Prince tribute carried me back to his Purple Rain Tour. I was in the center of the second row. Sheila E opened. Remember her? She had a song called Glamorous Life. She was a percussionist and a Prince protege.
I still remember Wendy and Lisa from The Revolution gently handing roses to the crowd as thousands of flower petals fell from the ceiling.
I know...the only permanent thing is change. But it sure does sting sometimes.
