It's her big day! Our rottweiler turns five today! When we first got her, Delilah was about a year old and weighed 72 pounds. She was skinny, but the happiest dog you could imagine. She now weighs a healthy 110 pounds.
She was originally owned by a guy in Indiana who acquired two rottweiler puppies at the same time, only to later decide he couldn't afford them both. He kept her brother (Samson), but surrendered our buddy to a rescue.
I've never understood how people can walk away from an animal, but that's getting away from the point.
Delilah has now been with us for four years. She was a big hit at Halloween when she dressed as a flying purple bat. Everyone, from toddlers to seniors, loved her...and she loved them right back. I've never seen a more social dog. She's also BFFs with all of the neighborhood dogs. The cats won't get close enough to see.
She's a fantastic part of our family and we show her every day.
Happy Burfday, Delilah! Prepare for a burfday chompfest tonight!
