Celebrate Record Store Day With Roche!

Record Store Day is this Saturday. For vinyl enthusiasts, it's like Christmas morning. And with vinyl making a huge comeback over the last decade, more and more artists are releasing special pressings available on on RSD.

At it's core, Record Store Day is a celebration of small business as well as a way to get customers to become aware of the great locally owned record stores in their area. When vinyl was out of style, these stores kept the format going and are now, rightfully, enjoying the business that comes with the vinyl resurgence.

Sam Lock, has been running The Record Exchange in Frederick for years. It had become THE place in that part of Maryland (and beyond) to find great vinyl (both old and new).

And then, disaster. A fire destroyed The Record Exchange late last summer. I saw the post on Instagram and was heartbroken for Sam, his team, and vinyl lovers throughout the region. But I was equally inspired by Sam's determination not to let The Record Exchange be defined by the fire. I gladly donated to the GoFundMe to rebuild The Record Exchange and was thrilled that so many others joined the cause.

And we did it! The Record Exchange re-opened a few weeks ago and are steadily re-stocking the great classic and new vinyl they are known for. Saturday will be the official grand re-opening for the shop and I'm so excited to be broadcasting live from the new location on Friday between 3p-7p.

Sam will be on with me to give more context to the story as well as give a preview of what we can expect for Saturday's release. It's a true feel good story and the perfect way to get ready for Record Store Day and supporting small businesses in your area.

Would love if you could join me at The Record Exchange in Frederick on Friday. Click for the address and directions.

But, more importantly, make sure you hit up your local record store in the next few weeks and support small, local businesses in your area.
