Today Marks Latina Equal Pay Day

This is the day when Latina pay catches up to that of white, non-Hispanic men from the previous year, so basically Latina women must work almost an entire year to earn what white non-Hispanic men earned in 2018. Miami-Dade Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava says they're working on ways to fix this. The county has a pay equity agreement required for anyone doing business in Miami-Dade. Any business found in violation will lose its contract. Latina's typically earn only 54 cents for every dollar earned by white, non-Hispanic men.
