If you plan on going to Miami in March for the Monsters of Rock Cruise, keep this in mind: throughout March, double towing rates of $516 for non-Miami Beach residents will be in effect- and it doesn't stop there.
Security checkpoints will be set up at beach entrances on Ocean Drive. Street parking in South Beach will be heavily restricted, and access to residential neighborhoods will be limited.
Then from the weeks of March 13-16 and March 20-23, when spring break vacations are at the most common, all parking garages and surface lots south of 23rd Street will be closed, with a $100 flat rate imposed at garages in Sunset Harbour and on 42nd Street. The closures and rates won’t apply to city residents and employees.
Rentals of motorized vehicles like “Slingshots” will be suspended, barricades will line the west side of the strip, and the return of a curfew.
Miami Beach so serious about this that they created a video that looks like a trailer for a spring break reality show, but everyone in it has a terrible time.
Officials are encouraging people to read all the city's spring break rules before buying plane tickets. They launched a website called MBRealityCheck.com. The video below.
