Chasing the cheese is sometimes used as an expression for the work week but it is a little different grind during the Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake. It's an annual event in England, where people race down a VERY steep, 200-yard-long hill . . . chasing a wheel of Double Gloucester cheese. This year's event happened yesterday, and a 19-year-old Canadian named Delaney Irving won the women's race, despite falling and being knocked unconscious on her way down, and rolling across the finish line.
- Now in case your wondering about what the winner of a race gets for this extreme sport...well, The main prize is a round of handmade Double Gloucester cheese which is rolled down the hill and chased by the competitors. Uh..I think I'll continue to chase cheese the way I do now. Show up for work.
