Just over a month ago, Jerry sat down with Crash & AJ and opened up on his life- from his birth in a train tunnel during the holocaust, to his time as Mayor, his Mt. Rushmore of music, and sooooo much more. Take a listen below.

As for his passing, according to TMZ, a family spokesperson says Jerry had been diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, and this week he took a turn for the worse. He died at his home in the Chicago area at the age of 79.
