Twitter Employees are saluting Elon and his new leadership after an ultimatum.
Elon Musk is seeing massive groups of Twitter employees leave after an email
Musk issued some tough talk to his employees in a recent company-wide email. He told them that they needed to commit to an “extremely hardcore” work environment or quit. Expect “long hours at high intensity” if they stay on, he wrote. He gave them until 5 p.m. Thursday to decide. Hundreds of salute emojis (which is shorthand for “thank you for your service”) were soon posted in an employee chat group. Nobody knows how many actually quit, but word is it was plenty. By the end of the day, the company closed its offices until Monday. Musk has already laid off half of Twitter’s workforce since taking over a couple of weeks ago.
