Do robots have rights to their inventions? Not according to the U.S. Federal Circuit.
Artificial Intelligence Innovator Stephen Thaler has tried to copyright and patent his robots' creations. However, Judge Leonard P. Stark ruled that patent-holders must be human individuals.
"The Patent Act requires that inventors must be natural persons; that is, human beings," the judge said. Thaler is expected to appeal to a higher court.
