A Drunk Driver with Two Missing Tires Tried to Blame It on Covid

 

Today's Superstar is a guy in Wales got caught driving drunk in a van with two missing tires, and tried to blame it on Covid. He tested positive the next day, and argued in court that he only drove drunk because the virus affected his decision-making skills. The court didn't buy it, and suspended his license for 17 months.

A 42-year-old guy in Wales named Laurie Rosser got pulled over last month for driving drunk . . . in a van with two missing tires.

Someone called the cops around 2:00 A.M. when they saw him zipping down the highway with his front and back left tires missing. So he was driving on the rims. It turned out he'd blown both tires, but kept driving for another 10 miles. And he claimed he'd only had two beers, but he was twice the legal limit. Now here's the excuse: In court the other day, he tried to blame it on COVID.

He tested positive the day after the arrest. So his lawyer claimed it made him cloudy-headed and affected his decision-making. That's why he drove.

Ultimately, the court didn't buy it. They fined him $350 and suspended his license for 17 months.
