A Maryland rapper who goes by the name Goonew was shot and killed during a robbery last month. And this past Sunday, friends and family gathered for a memorial concert at the Bliss Nightclub in Washington, D.C.
People paid 40 bucks a pop to attend, and they were treated to a special onstage guest: GOONEW.
That's right, his embalmed body was standing onstage, dressed in designer clothes and sunglasses, with a crown on his head.
Obviously, a lot of people are bothered by this. But a fellow rapper named Black Fortune was there, and he says, quote, "As long as his mother was happy that's all that matter."
But the club actually apologized, and said nobody told them the body was going to be on display during the event.
