The Iconic Green Scales seen in every Publix could be a thing of the past.
Over the years few things have been a constant and the iconic green scales in the front of every Publix grocery store is one of those.
BUT
The company that manufactures the scales has ceased production back in 2015. The grocery store chain has been maintaining the scales for the last few years, but it is coming to the point where new stores are opening up without a scale.
In a 1988 interview with Jenkins, the company founder said, the scales “were very popular. Even back then people were conscious of their weight.” He added, more than 5 million customers weighed themselves in Publix’s during the first year of business.
Publix posted a quick look back about the scales on their FB page.
