Governor DeSantis signs "Strongest" legislation against COVID mandates

DeSantis Signs Legislation Against Covid Vaccination Mandates That He Calls 'Strongest' in Nation

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation yesterday (November 18th) against Covid-19 vaccination mandates that he called "the strongest anywhere in the country." Under the new law, all entities in the state, including businesses, hospitals and governments, must allow workers to opt out of Covid vaccine mandates with a religious or medical exemption, proof of natural immunity, or undergoing regular testing for Covid.

Violations would bring fines of $10,000 per infraction for those with fewer than 100 employees and $50,000 for those with 100 or more employees. The law also bans school districts in Florida from requiring masks and from quarantining healthy students who may have been exposed to Covid.
